Mark your calendars for a morning of sweet treats, great company and a chance to support some wonderful local charities at the Kedron-Wavell Women’s Auxiliary Charity Morning Tea.
The group has been hosting morning teas for years and Margaret Atkinson, Treasurer of the Women’s Auxiliary, said they were very much looking forward to hosting everyone again this August.
“All of the money raised will go to different charities,” Margaret said. “We donate to places like Hummingbird House, the Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, Young Care and other charities that help out families in need.”
Purpose of the Group
Margaret explained that the Women’s Auxiliary group meets every Thursday to play games, listen to guest speakers, craft, or go on special outings.
“The purpose of the group is to form social connections and provide companionship for our members who are in their 60s to 90s,” she said. “We have been hosting morning teas for years and hope to have about 200 people attend this one.
“We are also planning to have some great raffles and lucky doors. Chaplain Nicole will also be on hand as our guest speaker.”
Guests will be treated to sandwiches, hot food, cakes, scones, tea and coffee, and the bar will be open for guests who would like to make purchases.
Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased individually or as tables of ten by calling 0411 480 559.
