The Brisbane Netball Association (BNA) has officially opened a new state-of-the-art clubhouse at Bradbury Park in Chermside.

The facility, unveiled last month, was delivered with a $3 million investment from the Australian Government under the Investing in Our Communities Program.

Sport Minister and Federal Member for Lilley, Anika Wells, said the BNA had been around for more than 50 years, and this investment would help set them up for the next 50.

“More than 1300 kids play at Bradbury Park and I want to see this grow to give more young kids the opportunity to play sport,” Ms Wells said.

“This new clubhouse provides a modern facility to support the growth of netball across the Northside, from hosting school, regional and inter-district competitions, to training and other events.

“By creating a safe, accessible and inclusive community hub, the new facility will support greater opportunities for social connection, participation in women’s sport and community engagement, which is a fantastic outcome for the community.”

The new clubhouse features improved accessible facilities, change rooms, new administration spaces, function rooms, a canteen and registration areas, storage amenities, spectator areas and carpark upgrades.

Honouring History: BNA’s Decades of Growth at Bradbury Park

BNA’s history at Bradbury Park dates back to 1972, when the association secured a lease from Brisbane City Council and constructed its first clubhouse. That original facility featured dressing rooms, amenities, office space and a canteen, and was progressively expanded and renovated over the years.

The new development is expected to support continued growth in player numbers and create more casual and volunteer opportunities within the association.
