This November, Young Minds celebrates a remarkable milestone – 20 years of supporting families, children, adolescents and adults across North Brisbane and beyond. From their first clinic to four locations today, the team has remained committed to one simple idea: Young Minds for all ages.

For two decades, Young Minds has provided multidisciplinary allied health services with warmth, compassion and respect. Their team includes psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and social workers, all working together to give clients the support they need.

A Clinic for Every Stage of Life

Young Minds welcomes clients of all ages

Young Minds welcomes clients of all ages. Children, teens, adults and parents all receive tailored, professional care. Whether it’s emotional support, developmental guidance, or social work assistance, the approach is always individualised and non-judgemental.

Their psychologists support children and adolescents to manage anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, behavioural issues and life transitions. Adult clients are offered therapy for grief, trauma, chronic health conditions, relationship struggles, work stress and more. Parents are guided through challenges with proven programs such as Circle of Security, helping them understand and connect with their children in meaningful ways.

Assessment and Diagnosis

Young Minds provides comprehensive assessment services for all ages. This includes evaluations for ADHD, ASD, giftedness, learning disabilities, intellectual impairments, motor skills, sensory processing, speech and language difficulties, and overall daily functioning.

Assessments begin with an initial interview to gather background information, followed by testing sessions in a quiet, distraction-free environment. Reports are then compiled and discussed in a feedback session, where strategies and forward planning are offered. These assessments help families, schools, and clients themselves to understand strengths, challenges and the next steps for support.

Therapy That Fits Real Life

Young Minds Network

The team at Young Minds uses play, games, movement and practical exercises to make therapy engaging and effective. Occupational therapy helps children improve motor skills, attention, self-care and classroom participation. Speech pathology addresses communication challenges, from early language delays to complex needs associated with autism or cerebral palsy. Social work supports clients in building independence, resilience, and social connections.

For clients unable to attend one of their four Brisbane clinics, located at The Gap, Stafford, North Lakes and Redcliffe, Young Minds offers telehealth services. This service makes therapy accessible Australia-wide, particularly for families in rural areas of Western Queensland. Using secure video technology, telehealth brings real-time professional support directly into homes, reducing travel barriers and making ongoing therapy much more convenient.

Groups and Community Support

Young Minds also runs a range of groups for children, adolescents, adults and parents. These sessions provide social connection, skill-building and a safe environment to explore challenges alongside others with similar experiences.

Through their work, Young Minds fosters a sense of belonging. Clients don’t just receive therapy; they become part of a supportive community that encourages growth, learning, and confidence.

Professional Supervision and Development

Beyond direct client care, Young Minds supports the wider allied health community. Accredited psychologists provide supervision for provisional psychologists and early career therapists, helping develop professional skills and maintain high standards of care. Supervision is available face-to-face, online, or in group settings, offering flexibility for practitioners at all stages of their careers.

A Network That Makes a Difference

After 20 years, the team reflects proudly on the thousands of clients they’ve supported. Many children seen at Young Minds are now thriving adults, a testament to the clinic’s commitment to long-term, holistic care.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in 20 years,” the team says. “But we are even more excited about continuing to grow, learn, and support families across Brisbane and beyond.”

Whether it’s a first-time parent seeking guidance, a teenager navigating life challenges, or an adult managing mental health concerns, Young Minds is ready to help. Their integrated, multidisciplinary approach ensures that complex issues are managed with care, consistency and compassion.

Celebrating 20 Years with You

As Young Minds marks this milestone, the invitation goes out to the community: celebrate with them, reconnect, or simply explore the services on offer. With four clinics, telehealth services, and a team dedicated to excellence, Young Minds continues to make a difference, one child, one adult, and one family at a time.

For 20 years and beyond, Young Minds has been about one thing: putting people first, supporting growth, and inspiring confidence in every client.
