An upgrade to Hamilton Road near the Prince Charles Hospital is among several Chermside projects listed in Brisbane’s 2025/26 Budget.

The project is set to target the known congestion hotspot and will be delivered in partnership with the State Government.

Marchant Ward Councillor Danita Parry said the upgrade would drastically change the way locals move around their suburbs.

“I know residents will be so excited to see the change this will make, particularly when accessing the busy Prince Charles Hospital,” Cr Parry said.

Road, Park and Community Improvements Across Northern Suburbs

Alongside the intersection improvements, local road, pedestrian and footpath works are planned for Rode Road, Stafford; Davenport Street at Rode Road, Chermside; St Anthony’s Primary School, Kedron; Webster Road, Stafford; and Nevin Street, Aspley.

Road resurfacing is scheduled for various streets throughout Stafford, Chermside, Chermside West, Stafford Heights, Kedron and Aspley.

Parks and community facilities are also set to receive attention, with asset maintenance and upgrades including land remediation around Bradbury Park, replacement of the timber bridge at Frederick Annand Park in Chermside West, and a new playground and gazebo at Hickey Park, Stafford.

Additionally, drainage and stormwater works will be carried out at Theodore Street, Stafford and Hamilton Road, Chermside.
