All Saints Anglican Church is embracing the holiday spirit with a variety of activities designed to bring joy and community togetherness.
For the first time, the church will host a free Advent Workshop for children aged 4 to 14, taking place over two mornings this month.
“We hope to teach children about God through fun activities, helping them to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus,” Fr Daniel said.
The workshop will feature Christmas crafts, cooking, games, card-making, singing and storytelling. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
Christmas Events for Togetherness and Celebration
The church will also hold its free, two-course Christmas Lunch for Singles on Christmas Day at 11.30am. The event is aimed at individuals who may be spending the holiday alone.
Fr Daniel said that in these troubled times with so much homelessness and financial struggle, many people were alone and trying to find hope and some sense of community.
“Please don’t spend Christmas Day alone,’ Fr Daniel said. “Come and sit at ‘our table’ where we offer delicious food, companionship and God’s love.”
Parishioners will be singing carols and offering a free barbecue at 4.30pm in Frederick Annand Park on 1 December and at John Patterson Park on 8 December.
The church will also celebrate Christmas with special services on Christmas Eve at 6pm, followed by a midnight service at 11pm and a Christmas Day service at 8am.
Parents interested in registering their children for the Advent Workshop must complete a form by calling 3359 2062 or emailing office@allsaintschermside.org.au by 9 December.
