Get ready to show your Queensland pride at the 2025 Queensland Day Celebrations, proudly presented by the Banyo District Community Group Inc (BDCG).

This much-loved event will take over Nudgee Showground Park this month and promises an exciting line-up of live entertainment, mouth-watering bites and local market stalls.

Robyn Morris of BDCG said that the day had always been very popular with local families and they would like to see as many people as possible come out to join in the fun this year.

“The event has been running every year since 2016 – with the exception of 2020 during Covid,” she said. “It’s always been very successful.”

Commemorating the state’s journey to becoming an independent colony after separating from New South Wales, Queensland Day celebrates everything that makes this state such a wonderful place for people to call home.

To celebrate Queensland’s 166th anniversary, this year’s celebrations will kick off at 10am with a citizenship ceremony, followed by the Nudgee Showground Park festivities.

Family-Friendly Fun, Music, Food and Community Spirit

“It’s a family-friendly atmosphere with free music and entertainment,” Robyn said. “There will be displays from SES, Ambulance Committee and Queensland Police Services.”

Prepare to be entertained by local favourites that are sure to keep both young and old Queenslanders engaged in a relaxed, community-minded setting.

“We will have the Swingalicious Band and Northside Chamber Orchestra Brass Band,” Robyn said. “There will also be local school performances, a jumping castle and face painting.”

Visitors can also test their knowledge of the Sunshine State with a Queensland Day quiz.

Food lovers can look forward to a family-favourite sausage sizzle as well as a variety of food stalls featuring international cuisine, hot chips and ice cream, making it the perfect day out while celebrating the spirit of community.

“The day is a showcase of local artists through music, dance, visual arts, associated local products and community groups,” Robyn said. “We hope to recreate the original Nudgee showground park atmosphere.”
