Local families have shared their ideas for the future of Huxtable Park’s playground at a community planning event held last month.
Hosted by Marchant Ward Councillor Danita Parry at Helicopter Playground in Chermside West, the Huxtable Park Planning Party gave residents the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed playground upgrade while enjoying a range of family activities.
Cr Parry thanked the families, local groups and organisations who helped make the morning fun.
“It was fantastic to see so many families come down to Huxtable Park, enjoy the fun activities and to share their ideas on the playground upgrade,” she said.
“We heard lots about what families love, what they’d like to see more of and what they think could make the playground even better. That feedback is exactly what the Planning Party was all about.”
Family Entertainment and Community Support
Families were able to meet native animals during the D’Aguilar Wildlife show, have their faces painted and enjoy a free sausage sizzle and breakfast barbecue provided by Chermside-Burul Scouts.
Craigslea State School P&C ran a coffee cart, while Neighbours of Huxtable Park and Huxtable Park Bushcare shared information about their work caring for the surrounding bushland.
Feedback gathered from families at the Planning Party, along with responses submitted online, will now be collated and used to inform the next stage of planning for the Huxtable Park playground upgrade.
