Nature enthusiasts can get active and discover more about their local area this Spring.
The free twilight walk for adults will take place on Friday, 16 October at Raven Street Reserve, and will give participants the opportunity to explore what the bushland has to offer.
Brisbane City Council Environment Centres Coordinator, Natalie Aurisch, said the walk was an opportunity for participants to experience Raven Street Reserve as it transitioned from day to night.
“(This is) a time when the bushland comes alive with different sights and sounds,” Natalie said.
“Along the walk, participants may see native wildlife becoming active at dusk, listen for frog calls and bird calls, and learn about the plants, animals and ecological values of this important urban bushland reserve.”
Discover Local Wildlife on the Bushland Track
The reserve is home to a lot of wildlife that participants may get to experience during the 2.5km bushland track.
“…Raven Street Reserve is home to a diverse range of native species, and previous visitors have encountered wildlife including powerful owls, tawny frogmouths, brushtail possums, gliders, frogs, microbats and a variety of nocturnal insects,” Natalie said.
“Events like this help people connect with nature and gain a greater appreciation for the natural areas we have right here in Brisbane.”
