If you’re looking for an excuse to dress up and enjoy a fabulous afternoon unwinding with family and friends, the Petaluma Wines luncheon, hosted by the Aspley Hornets Football Club, may be just what you need.
Maddy Young, Marketing Coordinator for the Hornets, said that the club’s wine events have always been well supported by the local community, and she expected this luncheon, set for early October, would also be very popular.
“Our last wine dinner was held in July and we had a sold-out crowd,” she said. “We find that we have people coming back again and again because they enjoy them so much. It’s just a nice fancy event.”
The luncheon will be hosted on the Hornets’ beautiful outdoor, covered Bistro Deck, in the heart of Carseldine. While there isn’t a set dress code for the event, Maddy said that guests do tend to enjoy looking their best for these special tasting experiences.
Wine, Food, and Community
A selection of Petaluma wines will be served, each glass perfectly paired with a five-course degustation menu.
“The chef is creating a fresh, spring-themed menu,” Maddy said. “He normally makes everything gluten-free regardless, but he’s able to cater to a number of dietary requirements while ensuring everything is still high quality.”
As guests savour each bite and every sip, a wine professional will be on hand to guide them through the experience and explain the story behind each drop.
“It’s so interesting seeing all the different food and wine pairings and listening to the wine expert talk about flavour profiles, wine regions and history,” Maddy said. “Guests can mingle and meet new people, try new wines, enjoy good food, and can purchase bottles of their favourite wines at the end of the lunch.”
Maddy looks forward to welcoming all foodies, wine lovers, and anyone eager to treat themselves to great conversation, good food and a little indulgence.
“I have been working at the club in various roles for eight years now and wine events are always my favourite function to work,” Maddy said. “They’re always lovely events.”
Tickets are $79 for members and $85 for non-members. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit aspleyhornets.com.au or call 3263 5522.
