Animal lovers are invited to enjoy an evening of laughter, prizes, and delicious vegan food at the third annual Cranky’s FARM Trivia Night.
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, 20 September at the Northern Suburbs Bowls Club in Wavell Heights, supporting the registered charity’s mission to care for abused, neglected, and unwanted farm animals.
Cranky’s FARM co-founder Natalie Stevenson said the evening would begin with time for guests to mingle and browse the many prizes up for grabs.
“We’ll be selling raffle tickets over the course of the evening, there’ll be a lucky door prize, and guests will be able to test their general trivia knowledge, which will also include a special Cranky’s FARM round that will be sure to delight our supporters,” Natalie said.
“It’ll be a great night out for people with animal welfare interests in common to come together, have a fun evening, and maybe even win one of the amazing prizes.”
The night will feature a fully vegan menu. Entrees include garlic pizza paddles, king oyster mushroom steaks, and umami zucchini skewers. Mains range from black bean enchiladas and veggie casserole to quinoa-stuffed eggplant. For dessert, guests can enjoy caramel slice and tarte au citron.
Natalie said the Northern Suburbs Bowls Club was in a central location for their loyal supporters to access, with friendly staff and a hall perfectly sized for the event.
“Their catering partner has developed an amazing menu and will have exclusive use of the kitchen so there won’t be any cross-contamination with the food,” she said.
The Importance of the Event
She added that the annual trivia night was important for two reasons.
“Firstly, it raises much-needed funds that keep the charity open and able to care for the 60-plus previously abused or neglected animals that call Cranky’s FARM home,” she said. “Secondly, it gives a sense of community for people who care deeply about animals and their welfare.”
Funds raised will go towards replenishing the charity’s emergency veterinary fund, which recently helped cover surgeries and vet stays for animals like Tinkerbelle and David (both goats), and Lorenzo the donkey.
Earlybird tickets are $40 per person (until 4 August). Regular tickets are $50 per person, or book a table of eight to score a free ticket.
