A nostalgic celebration of Aussie pub rock is heading to Nundah, with the Best Years of Our Lives show set to bring the golden era of live music roaring back to life at the Royal Hotel.
Presented by Dreams and directed by lead guitarist and vocalist Wayne Daniels, the show marks the band’s first performance at the Royal Hotel, with the group looking forward to belting out their favourite anthems when they take the stage in early June.
“It’s our first time playing there and we’re all very excited,” Wayne said. “These sorts of venues are the perfect landscape for Best Years of Our Lives.”
A Night of Classic Pub Rock Comes to Nundah
According to Wayne, the show is a high-energy trip down memory lane, taking audiences back to a time before social media, when live music was all about packed pubs, good mates and unforgettable nights.
“The show is a nostalgic time capsule which takes the audience back to a time where everything felt more free,” he said. “A time when you got your tribe together and went out and saw the amazing rock legends that left their mark on Aussie pub culture. This is what Best Years encapsulates.”
Best Years of Our Lives celebrates the magic of this era and pays tribute to the songs and artists that fueled the spirit of Australian pub rock. Covering hits from the great Aussie rock songbook, the two-hour-plus performance honours timeless artists including Richard Clapton, Australian Crawl, Men at Work, The Models, The Sports, Flowers and many more musicians who drew people to dancefloors across the country.
“The show is relatively new, but the music is so popular because it crosses decades from the mid-70’s to late 80’s,” Wayne said. “It’s all very exciting for me, being the founder and musical director, as I was there as a teenager, watching these bands doing their thing in real time back in the day. So being able to package it up into a show for the masses is a dream come true.”
