Join Brisbane Bells’ annual Christmas concert as handbells ring out holiday cheer.

Their advanced performance group, Bellissimo, will present Belle Noël on 6 December at Chermside Kedron Community Church, performing a selection of Christmas favourites that the audience can sing along to.

Treasurer Jemma Schmidt said Belle Noël would be an upbeat concert to start the season.

“Brisbane Bells always enjoys having a festive-themed end-of-year concert,” Jemma said. “Handbells work so well with the Christmas music and it’s always a joy to see everyone’s faces when they realise that handbells can create amazing renditions of their favourite carols!

“I mean, how many Christmas songs have bells in the title? While most people haven’t heard of handbells before coming to see a Brisbane Bells concert, they can’t help raving about them after they’ve been.”

Musical Collaboration and Festive Magic

A small string ensemble will perform Christmas medleys before joining the bells and flutes in two combined pieces. There will also be flute duets from Bellissimo conductor, Jennie Clarke-Smith, and one of her students.

“One of the magical things about handbells is how well they meld with other instruments, which means we are always excited to collaborate with other musicians!” Jemma said.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children and concession. Children under five are free. Book at brisbanebells.square.site
