All Saints Anglican Church in Chermside will host a series of community Christmas celebrations in December, including a children’s festival, outdoor carols and Christmas services.

The Children’s Christmas Festival will be held on Saturday, 5 December at the parish hall, featuring a petting farm, magic show, face painting, a llama and alpaca, Christmas singalongs, a free sausage sizzle and family activities.

Rector of All Saints Anglican Church Fr Daniel said, “We wanted to create something special for the children of our local community – a day filled with fun, laughter and happy memories.”

“Christmas is a time of love, hope and giving, and we believe this festival is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, meet others and experience the warmth of a welcoming community,” he said. “Everyone is welcome at All Saints, and we look forward to sharing the joy of Christmas with them.”

Outdoor Community Carols, Festive Services, and Holiday Support

The church will also hold community carols at Frederick Annand Park in Chermside West on Sunday, 6 December, and John Patterson Park in Chermside on Sunday, 13 December. Both events will run from 4.30pm to 6pm, featuring carols with the All Saints Choir, instrumental music, and a free sausage sizzle.

The annual outdoor gatherings are organised by church volunteers and welcome people of all ages.

Fr Daniel said the events were “our gift to the community.”

“Christmas is a time for joy, hope, and togetherness, and we want everyone to feel welcome and connected – whether through singing in the park or sharing a smile over a sausage sizzle,” he said.

The church will also host a Christmas Day lunch for single people only, who would otherwise spend the day alone. Those wishing to attend must contact the church in advance to assist with catering.

Christmas services will include a family service on Christmas Eve at 6pm, a midnight service at 11pm and a Christmas Day service at 8am.

“Christmas can be a busy or even lonely time for some,” Fr Daniel said. “Our hope is that everyone who comes along will leave with their hearts a little lighter and their spirits lifted by the true meaning of Christmas.”
