Bestselling and award-winning author Tricia Stringer will visit Chermside Library this month to discuss her latest novel, The Paradise Resort.
Tricia, the author of eight reality fiction titles, three historical books set in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges and seven rural romances, will appear at the library on Thursday, 5 November as part of the Lord Mayor’s Writers in Residence series.
She said she was really looking forward to visiting Chermside again and talking to readers about The Paradise Resort, which will take them behind the scenes of a remote resort.
“The story follows the people who work at the resort rather than the guests,” she said. “There are some staff with doubtful credentials, a spy in their midst, a manager under pressure and a few difficult guests, all thrown together against the backdrop of the magnificent Kimberley coastline where even paradise can have an off day.”
Behind the Scenes Storytelling and Book Signing Event
Tricia, who has spent most of her life in rural communities, has owned a post office and bookshop and worked as a teacher and librarian, said she loved visiting readers at local libraries because “they are open, welcoming spaces for everyone”.
“Most of all, I hope readers will enjoy spending time getting away from it all in The Paradise Resort,” she said.
Books will be available for purchase, or attendees can bring a copy from home to be signed. The event is free, but bookings are essential. Reserve your spots here.
