More than 30,000 households and businesses on the Northside are set to benefit from faster, more reliable internet, thanks to major upgrades to the National Broadband Network (NBN).
As part of a broader national initiative, the Federal Government is investing $2.4 billion over four years to deliver fibre connections to an additional 1.5 million homes and businesses.
Full-Fibre Broadband Upgrades Now Available
Residents and businesses in parts of Chermside, Everton Park, Geebung, Kedron, Nundah, Stafford and Zillmere can now access full-fibre broadband upgrades, capable of providing speeds up to one gigabit per second—18 times faster than traditional copper connections.
Member for Lilley, the Hon Anika Wells MP, welcomed the upgrade, noting the average household was consuming more data across more devices than ever before.
“This is an opportunity for eligible local families and businesses to enjoy faster speeds while working or studying from home, streaming their favourite shows and gaming,” Minister Wells said.
Full-fibre upgrades are available upon request when an eligible premise selects a qualifying higher-speed plan.
