Thousands of local dog lovers and their pets are expected to head to Carseldine Markets this month for the 10th annual Barktoberfest.
Held on Saturday, 12 September, the event will offer a day of entertainment, competitions, shopping, food and activities for the whole family.
Market Coordinator Mark Power said that what began as a day for dog lovers has evolved into a vibrant event that brings together families, local businesses and the wider community.
“As we celebrate 10 years of Barktoberfest, it’s incredible to see how the event has grown into one of south-east Queensland’s favourite dog-friendly community celebrations,” he said.
“With more than 150 stalls showcasing specialty pet products, artisan makers and some of SEQ’s best food vendors, Barktoberfest continues to get bigger and better each year.
“Celebrating a decade of wagging tails, community spirit and local business, Barktoberfest is the perfect place to connect with our vendors, fellow dog lovers and man’s best friend this September.”
Competitions, Shows and Family Entertainment
Dog competitions will include Pawsome Performer, where pooches can show off their best tricks, while the Pawparazzi Competition will feature categories including Prettiest Puppy, Stunning Senior and Best Action Shot. Attendees can also watch doggy demonstrations featuring dancing and fashion, the doggy wedding, and the Strike a Paws Dog Fashion Parade taking place at 10am.
The event will also feature kids’ activities and live entertainment.
