Northside families have a new school holiday activity to add to their calendars, as Robinson Road Marketplace is set to host its annual Family Fun Day this month.
The event, which will be held on Saturday, 26 September, will run from 10am to 2pm and is expected to attract around 2000 visitors with a range of entertainment and activities for children.
Kristin Huddleston, Marketing Manager at Strictly Marketing, which manages Robinson Road Marketplace, said the event at the shopping centre and community hub was created as a way to bring people together during the school holidays.
“The Robinson Road Marketplace Family Fun Day is open to everyone and we would love to see local families and visitors from the surrounding community come along,” she said.
“It is a completely free event designed for families and children of all ages.”
Activities planned for the day include craft, face painting, balloon twisting, live music, a photobooth, roving performers, stilt walkers, jugglers and hula hoop activities. Children can also take part in a Pick and Win game, and the first 300 children to attend the event will receive a show bag.
A Tradition of Free Community Fun
The Robinson Road Marketplace Family Fun Day is now in its third year, having first been held in 2024.
“Families really enjoy these types of events because they provide an easy and affordable way to spend time together during the school holidays,” Kristin said.
“With the cost of family outings continuing to add up, being able to enjoy several hours of free entertainment, activities and giveaways in one place is something we know is valued by the community.
“For Robinson Road Marketplace, the event is really about bringing the local community together and creating a fun and welcoming experience at the Centre.
“There is no fundraising component or particular awareness cause attached to the event. It is simply about giving back to the community and providing families with a great free day out during the September school holidays.”
