Older Australians and their families are invited to connect with local services and support at the first-ever Burnie Brae Seniors Expo this month.

The free event will be held at Burnie Brae’s Chermside community hub on Wednesday, 9 September, bringing together more than 30 exhibitors covering a range of topics to help people live well as they age.

Event Coordinator, Sherree, said the expo was about starting conversations early, exploring options and helping people feel confident about the choices ahead.

“Every day, we hear questions from members, clients and families about staying independent, planning for the future and finding the right support when they need it,” she said.

“We wanted to create an event that brings all of that information together in one welcoming space – not just for our existing community, but for anyone looking to discover what support, services and opportunities are available as we age.”

The expo will feature experts providing information on health and wellbeing, aged care, future planning, home and lifestyle, and community support and connection, as well as educational talks on a range of topics.

Finding the Right Support and Services

Sherree said many people were unsure where to begin when looking for support with aged care, health services, home improvements, financial planning or ways to stay connected and active.

“By bringing together trusted local organisations alongside Burnie Brae, visitors can have conversations face-to-face, ask questions and discover services they may not have known were available,” she said.
