If you’re looking for the perfect excuse to wear your favourite pink outfit and celebrate women in sport, then don’t miss Pink Day when it returns to Toombul District Cricket Club this month.
Now in its fourth year, Pink Day has become a regular fixture in the local calendar. Taking place on Saturday, 21 February, the fundraising event recognises women involved in cricket, as well as the supporters, volunteers and families at the club.
The event will be held at The Rooftop at Toombul District Cricket Club, also known as the Nundah Dome. It will feature a full program of cricket, live music, and raffles, with guests encouraged to dress in pink and be part of the celebration.
Supporting Women’s Cricket and Community Causes
According to Toombul District Cricket Club Operations Manager Greg Blake, the day is about far more than what happens on the field. Funds raised will support Rosies, a charity assisting people who are homeless, and those at risk of homelessness or experiencing social isolation and loneliness, as well as helping to grow the club’s women’s cricket program.
“Pink Day is used as a celebration for all the incredible women in cricket and who support our club,” Greg said.
“This will be our fourth year of running Pink Day. A portion of the money raised goes towards Rosies and the remaining goes towards the women’s program, supporting girls playing from the age of five.
“Anyone and everyone is encouraged to attend Pink Day, whether they play cricket or not. Our event will run from 3pm to 8pm and attendees can expect plenty of pink, great vibes, raffles and a full day of cricket fun.”
Ticket prices vary, with standard tickets priced at $85, and options including a food and beverage package. Tickets can be purchased through the Toombul District Cricket Club website at toombulcricket.com/
