The Sporting Globe Chermside is redefining the local sports bar experience with food, atmosphere and community at its core.
Located at Westfield Chermside, the bar and grill brings fans, friends and families together over modern Australian fare, pub classics and live sport.
Franchise Partner Corey said The Sporting Globe Chermside delivers the “best of both worlds” – relaxed and family-friendly, yet lively and energetic when watching sport with friends.
“It’s welcoming for all ages, whether you’re dining with family or catching up with mates,” Corey said.
Sport is at the heart of the venue, with more than 50 screens throughout, including private booths fitted with touchscreen TVs.
“We build energy throughout the venue to tailor the experience for major events,” Corey said. “Commentary is live and loud, lights are dimmed, venue wide open.”
The menu is packed with crowd favourites. Diners can start with warm-ups like buffalo chicken loaded fries or popcorn prawns, before moving on to salads, wraps, burgers and parma options featuring hand-crumbed chicken breast. Meat lovers will appreciate the six-star grass-fed Black Angus rump steak, smoky slow-cooked pork ribs and the popular 1 kg meat board.
“It has ribs, wings, chips, and slaw – something for everyone,” Corey said.
Plant-based, vegan, low-gluten options and a kids’ menu ensure all diners are catered to. Regular food specials run Monday to Friday, while Limited Time Offer (LTO) drinks menus appear during major seasons.
“Our most recent LTO was ‘Summer Untapped’ which offered a range of frozen margs, crispy prawn tacos, fish and chips, quesadillas, and a new wings, ribs, corn and fish platter,” Corey said.
Community, Events and What’s Next for the Venue
Beyond food and sport, Corey said The Sporting Globe Chermside plays an active role in the local community by sponsoring sporting clubs and giving back to supporters.
“It’s about being an active part of the community, not just a place to watch sport,” he said.
With one of the few rooftop bars in Chermside, the venue also stands out as a versatile space for birthdays, corporate functions, team celebrations and watch parties. Weekly trivia runs on Wednesday nights, while live music takes over on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Looking ahead, Corey said the venue would undergo renovations this year to modernise the space and elevate the overall experience.
“It will enhance how guests move through and use the venue, improve viewing and event areas and ensure The Sporting Globe continues to be the go-to destination for families, friends and major sporting events,” he said.
