A year on from their Queensland debut, The Australian Van Morrison Show is set to revisit a familiar stage this month.

The seven-piece band will return to Royal Quarters in Nundah on Friday, 27 February.

Singer-songwriter Steve Boyd said the band’s Queensland debut was a real highlight, with the night at the Royal a standout.

“The room was full, the crowd was right with us from the first song, and the atmosphere was great all night,” Steve said.

“It’s been exactly one year from that show and I’m looking forward to playing there again.”

Celebrating the Music of Van Morrison

The band released its debut single Irish Heartbeat last month. The track is a cover of Van Morrison’s song originally featured on his 1983 album Inarticulate Speech of the Heart, and later made famous as the title track of Morrison’s 1988 collaboration with The Chieftains.

The Australian Van Morrison Show aims to capture the spirit of 1960s rhythm and blues alongside the soulful heart of Morrison’s catalogue. Audiences can expect performances of well-known favourites such as Moondance, Bright Side of the Road and Brown Eyed Girl.

“People love Van’s songs. I do, and I always have,” Steve said. “We’re not copying his records, we’re just playing his great songs and having fun. Our shows are a party, a celebration.”

Tickets start at $43. Book here to secure your spots.
