Families, friends and gift-hunters are invited to celebrate the lead-up to Mother’s Day at the Burnie Brae Mother’s Day Market.
The popular community market will return to the Burnie Brae Hall in Chermside on Saturday, 18 April, for a morning of browsing homewares and handmade accessories.
Sherree, Burnie Brae Event Coordinator, said the markets had become a wonderful community event, bringing together people of all ages to support talented local creators.
“We love seeing families, friends and neighbours connecting while exploring handmade and locally made treasures,” Sherree said. “As a non-profit, events like these give us the chance to give back to our community through our activities and programs while celebrating creativity and connection.”
Visitors can expect a variety of stalls featuring homewares such as resin boards, wooden trinkets, decorative cushions and home-sewn kitchen accessories. Food lovers will find gourmet treats including French patisserie items, Italian biscuits, relishes, jams and pickles.
Handmade Gifts, Gourmet Treats and Family Fun
The market will also showcase skincare, home fragrances like candles and diffusers, planter pots and succulents, jewellery, and accessories such as tote bags and phone jewels and straps.
There will also be children’s clothes and toys, quirky gifts, handmade cards and free face painting for the kids.
The previous Mother’s Day Market attracted around 350 visitors of all ages, and organisers are hoping this year’s event will be even bigger.
“Come along and enjoy a morning of shopping, treats and community spirit!” Sherree said.
