PCYC Zillmere is celebrating Youth Week with a colourful afternoon of sport and community activities.

The event will include a Colour Xplosion Obstacle Course and basketball competition on Thursday, 16 April.

PCYC Youth Club Coordinator (Zone 5) and Acting Senior Sergeant Megan Dwyer said Youth Week was a powerful opportunity to bring the community together and recognise the incredible contributions, talents, and energy of young people.

“At PCYC Zillmere, we’re passionate about creating spaces where young people can connect, grow, and thrive,” she said. “That’s why we’ve worked closely with our Youth Leadership Teams to design an exciting afternoon of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Promoting Camaraderie Through Fun Competition

“This year, we’re hosting a vibrant colour run obstacle course with junior and senior races, giving participants a chance to challenge themselves while having a blast. We’re also thrilled to present an action-packed basketball competition for 12 to 18-year-olds, where young people can build on their skills, teamwork, and passion for the game.

“These events are more than just fun, they’re about building meaningful connections, fostering a sense of belonging, and celebrating the diversity and potential of our young people.”

Registration for the Colour Xplosion Obstacle Course is at 2pm, with the races starting at 2.30pm. The course is open to children aged between eight and 18, with parents required to participate alongside children aged eight and 12. A community sausage sizzle and cake will be at 3pm, followed by the basketball competition at 3.30pm.
