Prepare for a dino-mite prehistoric adventure these school holidays, with lifelike dinosaur puppets, tail-shaking tunes and roaring surprises!

The Dino Maniacs – Baby Dinosaurs Show is stomping into Kedron-Wavell on 30 June.

Lisa Forde, Owner and Director, Real Dinosaurs & The Dino Maniacs, said the show was a fun, high-energy hour of entertainment that the whole family could enjoy together.

“Families can expect lots of laughs, a touch of cheeky humour for the grown-ups, and loads of up-close interaction with our dinosaurs,” Lisa said.

“Audiences will meet Tara, known as the Dino Queen, and Shaun, our Dino Doctor, both bringing the show to life with energy and humour. I also join the fun with pre-show entertainment and puppeteering, helping to warm up the crowd before the dinosaurs take centre stage.

Interactive Family Fun and Dino Stars

“We also write and perform our own original songs, which are featured alongside well-known, toe-tapping favourites that adults will recognise too.

“It’s one of those shows where parents often walk away just as entertained as the kids – sometimes even more!”

The Dino Maniacs were named national winners of the What’s On 4 Kids Best Kids Live Show in 2024. Their Baby Dinosaurs show, part of the larger Dino Maniacs experience, has been specially created for children aged one to eight years.

“Over the years, we found that while the large dinosaurs look incredible, some families were hesitant as they thought their children might find them a bit scary,” Lisa said. “The baby dinosaurs offer a more gentle, interactive experience, and we’ve found kids warm to them instantly.”

Lisa said that while every dinosaur receives a fantastic reaction, Trixi the Triceratops was always a hit with the girls.

“She’s pink, wears a tutu, and has loads of personality!” Lisa said. “Our cheeky T. rex, Joffrey, is a favourite with the boys as he’s a little bit naughty and always gets big laughs.

“We also feature two Australian dinosaurs, Ozzi the Weewarrasaurus and Oi! the Qantassaurus, which audiences love.

“Some of our dinosaurs even talk, like Joffrey and Tru Blu, which really brings them to life. And then there’s Olive the Parasaurolophus – her name can be a bit tricky to pronounce, so we get the audience involved in teaching us! It’s amazing how much kids know about dinosaurs – we often learn something new from them at every show.”

Families are encouraged to dress in their favourite dinosaur outfit for the performance. A meet-and-greet will follow the show.

Tickets start at $15 (free for children under two). Book your spots here.
